Minimum Qualifications
- Nurse Practitioner (NP):Master's degree or higher in Nursing from an accredited program or grandfathered per NJ law
• Physician Assistant (PA):Master's degree from an accredited Physician Assistant program - Licensure & Certification (unencumbered):
- NP: Current Registered Nurse and Advanced Practice Nurse licensure in the State of New Jersey with national certification in area of specialty
- PA: Current Physician Assistant license in the State of New Jersey with NCCPA certification - Eligible for and granted clinical privileges by the Medical Staff Office
- BLS and ACLS required at time of hire; must be American Heart Association (AHA) certified
Position Summary
The Electrophysiology Advanced Practice Provider (APP) is a specialized member of the Heart & Vascular Institute care team, providing advanced clinical care to patients with cardiac rhythm disorders across inpatient and outpatient settings. The APP practices collaboratively with electrophysiology physicians and the interdisciplinary care team to support high-quality, evidence-based care, procedural coordination, and longitudinal arrhythmia management.
The APP evaluates patients, performs rhythm-focused assessments, establishes diagnoses, and develops and implements treatment plans consistent with medical staff privileges, collaborative practice agreements, and organizational standards. This role emphasizes clinical excellence, independent judgment, and patient-centered care.
The APP contributes to quality improvement initiatives, supports device and procedural workflows, and maintains clinical competence through ongoing education in electrophysiology and cardiac rhythm management.
Qualifications:
Education:
• NP: Master's degree or higher in Nursing from an accredited program or grandfathered per NJ law
• PA: Master's degree from an accredited Physician Assistant program
License/Certification:
• Current, unencumbered licensure in the State of New Jersey as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant
• National certification in area of specialty
• Granted clinical privileges by the Medical Staff Office
• BLS and ACLS required; must be American Heart Association (AHA) certified
Experience:
• Minimum of 2 years relevant clinical experience preferred
• Prior electrophysiology, cardiology, critical care, or device management experience strongly preferred
• Proficiency in electronic health record systems preferred; training provided as needed

Work Environment
Potential exposure to hazards inherent to hospital and ambulatory environments, including infectious diseases, hazardous substances, blood-borne pathogens, and potential injury. Physical demands include standing, walking, bending, stooping, and lifting approximately 25-30 lbs as required.
Reporting Relationship
The Advanced Practice Provider collaborates clinically with electrophysiology physicians and reports administratively to the appropriate departmental or operational leader. Additional reporting relationships may exist with Nursing or Departmental Leadership based on practice setting.
